These programs utilize principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) that are specifically designed in delivering intensive and early intervention to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ranging from two (2) to six (6) years old.
-
Our treatment curriculum, based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, is designed to cater to the unique needs and abilities of children between the ages of 6 and 12. We recognize that developmental stages and skill levels in children at this age range can vary significantly. Therefore, our curriculum is tailored to meet each individual's specific goals and requirements.
-
Our Social Skills program aims to provide support in reaching a developmentally appropriate level of social competency. We understand that each child family and family unit entering our program has unique needs and goals. Our goal is to empower your child to improve their social skills and ultimately enhance their overall quality of life.
-
Through our consultation services, we aim to offer supplemental behavioral support and training to parents and educators. This is based on a thorough understanding of the child's behavior through a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA).
How It Works
Our first step in working with your child is to conduct a thorough assessment with the purpose of identifying their strengths, challenges, and specific areas of need. This assessment comprises both indirect and direct components. The indirect component of the assessment may include interviews with caregivers, other service providers, and standardized assessments. The direct component of the assessment may include direct observation of your child across a variety of contexts and/or environments. This process helps us develop an individualized treatment plan and protocol that target specific goals as it relates to both behavior and skill acquisition.
Once the assessment is completed, our team will collaborate closely with you to create a treatment plan that is tailored to you and your child's needs and goals. This plan will outline the specific intervention strategies, techniques, and protocols that will be implemented to support your child's development.
Our highly trained and experienced behavior technicians will work one-on-one with your child to implement the treatment plan with the supervision and support of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. They will use evidence-based ABA techniques to teach new skills (verbal behavior, social skills, leisure skills, community skills, self-management), to reduce symptoms of nervous system dysregulation (commonly referred to as challenging behaviors), and increase appropriate replacement behaviors. These techniques may include discrete trial training, naturalistic teaching, verbal behavior approaches, and social skills training, among others.
Throughout the treatment process, our team will continuously monitor your child's progress and make adjustments to the treatment plan as needed. We believe in a collaborative approach, and we encourage parents / caregivers to actively participate in their child's treatment. We will provide ongoing support, training, and guidance to ensure that you have the tools and knowledge to support your child's progress at home.
At Uniquely, we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of neurodiverse individuals. We aim to support your child in maximizing their potential and improving their quality of life. Contact us today to learn more about our services and how we can support your child's journey.
